The film ran into a series of copyright issues. Initially, Sajid Khan was accused for lifting the story from Tamil film producer P L Thenappan's, 'Kadhala Kadhala' starring Kamal Hassan. Sajid Nadiadwala later filed a case against Thenappan for extortion. The film also ran into trouble for using a popular song from the film 'Laawaris' without proper permission from the right person.
