Currently, television in India has very little to offer horror lovers. But there was a time when people used to love watching horror shows and they used to keep their eyes open (and often closed) for such shows. The 10 PM slot was initially when the horror shows would appear but a decade ago that slot was taken up by the Saas-Bahu sagas that have, more or less, been in the position since. We take a look at the best of Horror TV to date.
Zee Horror Show
Zee Horror Show was synonymous with scary TV and was produced by the kings of India's horror industry, the Ramsay brothers. Over-the-top plots dominated the ZHS, and it soon picked up and became famous.
Many different ghost stories were shown on it, including some that became very famous like
Jeevan Mrityu, based on female infanticide. The lead in that show was played by Pallavi Joshi. It was one of the most viewed horror episodes ever, and on public demand a sequel was also shot and shown.
