Mumbai-based Patni Computer Systems is the 16th largest IT employer in India. Patni derives major revenues from the US, followed by Europe, West Asia & Africa and Asia-Pacific.
Last year, Patni laid off close to 400 employees citing non-performance issues. The IT exporter said it was part of a routine appraisal exercise, carried out every year to weed out non-performers, and not related to any slowdown issues.
In the first quarter, Patni reportedly added 22 new clients which took its total active client number to 320. The number of million-dollar clients increased from 92 to 94 on a sequential basis. Revenue contributions by the Top 10 customers also decreased sequentially, from 48.7% to 46.9%.
The company has 27 sales offices across America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific, along with 22 global delivery centres located at strategic locations around the globe. It has vibrant and long-standing partnerships with more than 300 companies across the world.
