Ram Charan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Rangasthalam has opened well at the American box office!

Ram Charan and Samantha Akkineni‘s (formerly Samantha Ruth Prabhu) Rangasthalam was one of the most awaited Telugu films of the year. And looks like the film has opened very well. In fact, not only has the movie started off well in India, but at the overseas market too. In America, the film opened yesterday (March 29) and from what we hear, the premiere has generated more than $630K in collections on day 1 itself. This has not only made Rangasthalam as Ram Charan’s highest box office opener in USA, but it has also helped register the sixth highest opening day collection for a Telugu film in the country.

Rangasthalam‘s opening at the American box office is just behind the day 1 collections of Baahubali 2, Agnyaathavaasi, Baahubali, Khaidi No 150 and SPYder. As trade analyst and industry tracker – Ramesh Bala revealed on Twitter, “#Rangasthalam lands at No.6 in #US Top 10 Telugu Premieres. A very high position. Highest for #RamCharan. 1. #Baahubali2 – $2.45 Million. 2. #Agnyaathavaasi – $1.52 Million. 3. #Baahubali – $1.37 Million. 4. #KhaidiNo150 – $1.30 Million. 5. #SPYder $1.01 Million. 6. #Rangasthalam – $630K*.” Considering the pre release buzz, the interesting storyline and Ram Charan – Samantha Akkineni’s stardom, we always knew Rangasthalam would open well.
