Simon Cowell, the renowned British television producer created this show. It was devised in UK as a replacement for ‘Pop Idol’. In this singing competition, the contestants are pitted against each other and the aspiring pop singers are selected from public auditions. Now, the show is held in various countries and has become very popular across the countries.

Sony Television has acquired the rights of the show as a part of its autumn/winter line-up and it is likely to be on air after the conclusion of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ and ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’.
