Meet The 21 Indian Sports Celebrities Who Made An Absolute ****ing In 2017

In the ever-competitive era of modern-day cricket, only a handful of cricketers can stake claim to the kind of reputation Virat Kohli has earned in recent times. Whether it's his explosive batting or aggressive captaincy, the Indian captain continues to grow his fanbase in almost every corner of the world.

And, that's not all. Thanks to his popularity, Kohli's brand value, too, has multiplied over the years. He is face of many popular brands which has allowed the Indian captain to rake in the moolah outside the cricket world. Thus, it was pretty understandable when the Delhi lad emerged as the top Indian sports personality in 2017.

According to the latest Forbes list of top 100 Indian celebrities, Kohli has beaten the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni amongst others in Indian sports. With a staggering Rs 100.72 crore earnings, the 29-year-old is placed third in the overall list.

He is only behind Bollywood actors Salman Khan (Rs 232.8 crore) and Shah Rukh Khan (170.5 crore) in the top 100 Indian celebrity list. Surprisingly, even four years after his retirement in cricket, Tendulkar emerged second in the list of top Indian sports personalities with earnings amounting to Rs 82.50 crore this year.

Former Indian skipper Dhoni is third with Rs 63.77 crore in earnings. His Chennai Super Kings (CSK) teammate, Ravichandran Ashwin, also features in the list claiming the fifth spot in the sports list with Rs 34.67 crore.
