2018 is turning out to be one of the best years for Bollywood as almost 70 per cent of the films have worked phenomenally well at the box office. In fact, if we compare it with the first half of 2017, the rise in box office numbers are almost double, which is indeed a huge feat for the entertainment industry. Rs 1680 crore! You heard it right. That’s the humongous business Bollywood has done in its first six months at the ticket windows. Films like Padmaavat, Sanju, Race 3, Baaghi 2 and Raazi have contributed majorly to this staggering amount.

Interestingly, this year we saw the perfect blend of commercial entertainers and content-driven films, which was widely accepted from the audience. The B-Town has achieved one more milestone in 2018 as we witnessed in every month, there is at least a single Rs 100 crore film, which clearly indicates that if we supply people good and relevant content, they will come to the cinema halls and enjoy the film. Well, after a mind-boggling first half, the expectations are sky-high from the second-half of 2018 (July to December). Since all the big stars will come with their big-ticket films during the festive weekends, we assume to have fireworks at the box office. Movies like Gold, Total Dhamaal, Thugs of Hindostan, Student of the Year 2, Simmba and Zero are in our wishlist and we expect them to be big money-spinners at the box office. Though films like Dhadak, Soorma, Satyamev Jayate, Drive, Paltan, Namastey England and Junglee too have the potential to emerge as the winners at the ticket windows, especially due to their mass appeal and genre.
