The idea of a leap in a daily soap is to bring in some freshness. From clothes to locations and tracks, we see a huge change in a serial after a leap. The latest show to see a leap is Naamkarann, where we are seeing a leap of a decade. Incidentally, there is a change in the profession of the main male lead as well. Zain Imam aka Neil Khanna will be playing a radio jockey now. He was a cop before. Here is a look at other shows where actors’ professions changed after leap.

Naamkarann
On the show, Zain Imam played a cop Neil Khanna. He was shown as this daring officer who could tolerate no wrong. Right from preventing Avni (Aditi Rathore) from ****ing Dayawanti (Ragini Shah) to rescuing Mishti on numerous occasions, his presence made the show like a crime thriller. Now, post the leap, he will be shown as an RJ. Neil will be devastated and take solace in music. He will become an RJ and encourage viewers to narrate their love stories. The actor will be seen in a more dashing and handsome avatar. They will meet when he spots her bungalow as the ideal locale to shoot a music video. Beyhadh
The handsome Arjun Mathur played by Kushal Tandon was a carefree photographer in the first season of the show. Dressed in shirts, tees and denims, he was this bindaas guy who loved to click beautiful women. However, by the third season Kushal was shown as a business tycoon. He was shown as a successful businessman in the food industry. Kushal’s look also underwent a change. He was shown in spiffy suits and glares. The actor looked damn hot and we were not complaining. It was also logical in the sense that he wanted to forget the nightmare of Maya, which he endured as a photographer.

Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi
On the show, Shakti Arora’s character Ranveer Waghela was a business tycoon. However, after his separation with Ishaani (Radhika Madan), he became a painter. By then, the scene had shifted to Haryana and the plot was in a total mess. Ranveer, the artiste reunites with Ishaani after a lot of drama, which included his marriage being fixed with Ahlawat’s sister.
This was the actor’s sixth marriage sequence on the show.

Yeh Hai Mohabbatein
We have seen all sorts of permutations and combinations on the show relationship wise. In the most recent one, I****a (Divyanka Tripathi) went from being a dentist to a businesswoman. The lady’s look underwent a huge change from the sarees to Indo-Western wear. However, it was only for a short time.

Jaana Na Dil Se Door
There was change of job on this show as well. Atharva (Vikram Singh Chauhan) was shown as a tabela owner and later he went on to become the manager of a successful gym. It was small shift for him.

Saraswatichandra
Gautam Rode’s character Saras was shown as a young aristocrat. However, he took on the job of a secretary in Kumud’s (Jennifer Winget) in-law’s house so that he could better the relations between Pramod (Anshul Trivedi). It was not in the leap but made a lot of difference in the storyline.

Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 3
Barun Sobti’s character was shown as a Maths and Science whiz in the first leg of the show. It was said that he was an University Professor. Later, he saw him as a business tycoon as the scene shifted to Mumbai.
