Ahead of its official unveil in India, Renault has officially teased the car on its Indian website. The teaser images display its design silhouette along with a few features that will be on offer on the car. That said, the Captur will be launched in India by the end of this year (October-December 2017). Being a premium offering, the Renault Captur is expected to fall in the price bracket of INR 10 lakh to INR 15 lakh (ex-showroom). The Renault Captur is based on the company’s modular MO platform, which also underpins the Renault Duster along with the Nissan Kicks compact SUV. The Captur is a premium crossover SUV that will largely be similar in dimensions as compared to the Duster and will compete against the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the Honda BR-V. The Captur will also rival the Nissan Kicks, once the car is launched in India sometime next year. Under the hood, the new upcoming Renault Captur will borrow its power-train options from younger sibling, Renault Duster, which will be a 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine and 1.5-litre H4K Petrol. The former unit will be tuned to develop max power of 110PS with 248Nm of peak torque while the latter will churn out 105 bhp with 142Nm of power figures. As far as the transmission duties are concerned, the new Captur is expected to carry 5-speed manual and 6-speed manual for petrol and diesel respectively. The Renault Captur will be a premium offering from the French car maker in India and will be positioned above the Duster compact SUV. The Renault Captur will come equipped with full-LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, 7-inch MediaNav touch-screen infotainment system with navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and support for Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. The car will feature dual-tone interiors, leather upholstery for seats, twin-pod instrument cluster and much more.
