https://www.india-forums.com/tellybu...hand-chupa.jpg Total 261 Episodes telecasted from 28 June 2010 –17 June 2011 Director's Kut's Chand Chupa Badal Mein will be the next show to go off air on Star Plus!! The latest is that the channel has decided to wrap up the show by the last week of May. And taking its place will be Four Lions Films and Endemol India's upcoming show titled 'Vaidehi'. Our source states, "Star Plus has quite a few new launches coming post IPL. Chand Chupa Badal Mein is slated to end in the last week of May. The production house has already been notified of the development". Chand Chupa... was the launch vehicle for new faces Neha Sargam, Abhishek Tewari and Rishma Roshlani. It also paved a way for Kinshuk Mahajan's second stint with Director's Kut post Bidaai. Even though the fan following has been huge for the show, the ratings has always hovered around the 2 and 3 mark. The revelation of Viren's past and the love story of Viren and Nivedita did not push the numbers to the next level. When contacted, Kinshuk Mahajan said, "We have not heard anything about this on the sets. There is no talk of the show going off air as of now". Producer Rajan Shahi rubbished the news saying, "No, it is not true". However, our reliable source insists that Vaidehi will take the place of Chand Chupa.. from May 30th at the 8 PM slot. As reported by TellyBuzz earlier, Barun Sobti will play the main lead, while the search for the female lead is still on. Sanaya Irani of Miley Jab Hum Tum fame was short listed for the female lead's role, but there is no confirmation to this as of now. Guess viewers can enjoy the chemistry of Viren and Nivedita till it lasts… About the show:

Rajan Shahi’s Chand Chupa Badal Mein had shown a lot of promise during its launch, however, things were not working well for the show and now if rumours are to be believed, the channel has decided to pull it off. A source reveals, “Chand Chupa had been consistent with their TRPs. However at that time slot the channel was not happy with the output. The show with a lot of newcomers looked promising but has failed to make an impact. Star Plus has a number of shows lined up and now it has decided to let Chand Chupa wind up naturally. The show is tipped to go off air post IPL, around May. “Chand Chupa is definitely going off air and everyone in the industry is well aware of it. However there is no clarity on which show would replace it. But going by the reports Endemol in collaboration with 4 Lions is ready with their upcoming venture which in all probability will take the 8 pm slot.” Abhishek Tewari, who plays Siddharth in Chand Chupa says, “I have absolutely no idea about it. You are the first person telling me this.” Says Shahi,"Its not going off air. It will off air in its logical conclusion, this is confirmed and there is still time." |
