The match was played between the teams Boxy Boyz and Gold Eleven with Boxy Boys clinching the trophy. Shabbir Ahluwalia, who was recently seen co- hosting Guinness World Records-Ab India Todega with Preity Zinta, captained the Boxy Boyz and played a fabulous innings for his team. Vikas Kalantri’s team Gold Eleven was all out on 189. Other well known names who participated were Sameer Dharamadhikari, Jay Bhanushali, Manav Gohil, Sharad Kelkar, Indraneel Sengupta and many more.

Vikas Kalantri reveals " I have started Gold charity to benefit people from the TV industry. The cricket match was the initiative to gather money for the families of Gary Bhinder and Vijay Gupta who lost their lives while shooting. It felt great to receive so much support from the TV industry. I approached Shabbir who is the captain of the Boxy Boyz and he instantly confirmed that his team will play since it is for such a good cause."

Manish Paul opened the innings for Gold Eleven but got bowled out soon. Manish says, “The match was held for a good cause and in aid of some members of our fraternity. It always feels great to be a part of such a cause. I love playing cricket and this was also a good opportunity to show my cricketing s****s. I opened the innings for my team but I got over excited and got out soon. However I have no regrets as I also got to catch up with my friends from the industry whom I had not met since quite a long time, thanks to our busy schedules.”

Sharad Kelkar, a proud member from the winning side, smiles, “I have been huge cricket buff since childhood and used to be the captain of my college team. I enjoyed playing the match and am happy that our team won.”

It was not just the boys who had a great time, as some actresses were spotted enjoying themselves at the event too. Pooja Kanwal, popularly known as Disha from Sasural Genda Phool, hosted the event while Shweta Kwatra was seen cheering for husband Manav Gohil.

The money gathered from the match was given to the families of director Gary Bhinder and light man Vijay Gupta who lost their lives while shooting.

It is good to see TV stars taking some time out from their hectic schedules, for a good cause.
